Why anti-virus screen protectors when there are disinfectants?
Any disinfection of a surface is only good until the next person touches or contaminates that surface. And this is exactly where the virucidal or antibacterial permanently active display film from Neoxum comes into play: At any time, the effective coating kills viruses & bacteria and steadily decimates the viral or bacterial load. Within minutes, up to 99.9% of the pathogens are killed.
Anti viral & anti bacterial effectiveness within a few minutes - 99.9% reduction
Anti virus effectiveness
Within a few minutes, up to 99.9% of the pathogens are deactivated on the anti viral and anti microbial active display protection film for Siemens Sinumerik OP19. The following illustration clearly shows that, for example, 99.9% of the Corona viruses were destroyed after just 15 minutes. Influenza viruses, which can cause serious influenza disease, are 99.9% inactivated after just 3 minutes of contact with the anti-viral protective film. Diarrhea pathogens, such as the norovirus, are 99.9% inactivated after just 5 minutes of direct contact.
Antibacterial effect
Even bacteria such as E. coli, also known as coli bacteria, which cause unpleasant urinary tract diseases, cause sepsis and are feared as triggers of hospital infections, are reliably decimated by 99.9% after 5 minutes. Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus = MRSA) is a multi-resistant hospital germ that sometimes leads to inflammation or accumulation of pus, wound infections, especially after operations, inflammation of various organs of the body, for example urinary tract infections, pneumonia or bloodstream infections, and even complicated blood poisoning (medical emergency) (source: BZgA).
Tested according to DIN ISO 21702 and DIN ISO 22196
The anti-virus and antibacterial effectiveness within minutes was tested and validated in accordance with DIN ISO 21702 and DIN ISO 22196 using accredited testing laboratories. Details can be found in the test reports.
Survival time of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on various contact surfaces
Statement by the Robert Koch Institute on the importance of disinfecting PC hardware and touch displays
The Robert Koch Institute already explains the importance of touch-sensitive screens and computers in the chain of infection in its statement of April 5, 2019:
" The use of computers and devices that are operated via touchscreen is everyday life in healthcare facilities, including in patient-related environments. Since keyboards and touchscreens are surfaces that are often touched by hand, they represent a possible route for the transmission of pathogens [...] and should therefore be taken into account in the hygiene plan [...]. "Current research results from the CSIRO (Australia's government agency for scientific and industrial Research)
The following summary shows, according to a cutting-edge evaluation by the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) = Australia's government agency for scientific and industrial research) from October 2020, that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can survive for a long time on various surfaces and remains transmissible.
Anti-COVID-19 reaction of the Neoxum AntiVir screen protector
The surface of the stable screen protector suitable for Siemens Sinumerik OP19 is equipped with a new patented virucidal and bacteria-inactivating surface layer. Chemicals that may trigger allergies are completely avoided. Rather, the focus is on the anti-viral and antimicrobial effect of copper, which has been used since ancient times.
Antiseptic and anti-bacterial activity of copper
Copper ions, integrated in the very robust coating, react with the oxygen that is always present in the air and generate reactive oxygen species.
If germs such as bacteria or viruses (E. coli bacteria, influenza viruses, Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, adenoviruses, many nosocomial pathogens, noroviruses or coronaviruses) come into direct contact with the active antiviral and antibacterial layer of the display film for Siemens Sinumerik OP19, a so-called redox reaction is triggered. Oxygen molecules from the ambient air interact with the copper ions, included in the anti-viral and anti-bacterial effective layer, and form extremely bactericidal active intermediate molecules that very effectively attack and destroy the protein shell of viruses and bacterial proteins. The exposed virus mRNA (RNA), or bacterial RNA, is exposed and immediately destroyed. Many resistant pathogens, influenza viruses, Staphylococcus Aureus, adenoviruses, SARS-CoV-2 , E.Coli and noroviruses are effectively killed and are no longer contagious.
Constant decimation of pathogens on the Siemens Sinumerik OP19 screen
The reactive copper ions change their so-called oxidation states between copper I and copper II in the course of their virucidal action. The active copper ions are by no means used up, but are available again for continuous surface disinfection. The antibacterial and antiviral layer has a bactericidal effect for up to a year and automatically denatures viruses and bacteria in a period of a few minutes without the use of additional disinfectants.
Transmission of infections
In the case of smear infections via touchscreens, pathogens are passed on through contact with hands contaminated with pathogens.Pathogens transmitted from person to person
If a sick person sneezes into their hand, the transmissible bacteria stick to the inside of the hands. If the sick person now shakes hands with another person, the pathogens can be transmitted. If this person then puts their own infected hand to their mouth, nose or eyes,he can become infected with the virus or bacteria through the mucous membranes.
Transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus via surfaces
SARS-CoV-2 viruses even stick to objects. It is not only care facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes and old people's homes that are exposed to the increased risk of Covid-19 infection. Viruses and bacteria can also survive on screens of smartphones, ticket systems, smart TVs, tablet PCs, cash registers, portable payment systems and snack machines.
Bacteria and viruses are passed on via the hands. We definitely touch our faces with our fingers very often during the day. In this way, pathogens accidentally get from the contaminated surface of the Siemens Sinumerik OP19 via the hands to the mouth, nose and eyes. Germs such as corona viruses can be transmitted in this way.
Neoxum anti-viral and anti-bacterial protective films can also be used against numerous other pathogens
This transmission route plays a particularly important role in diarrhea. The smallest traces of infectious stool residues migrate via the hands to the mouth during smear infection. This transmission route is also known as fecal-oral. In the course of this, pathogens such as noroviruses or rotaviruses migrate into the organism. But influenza viruses (which cause serious influenza disease) and Covid-19 viruses are also transmitted via the hand-mouth infection route. Mouth and nose coverings, masks and FFP2 masks in particular are a breeding ground for germs, as they are usually not cleaned regularly. We touch the mouth and nose covering several times a day and then repeatedly press the touch display. After just 5 days in a Petri dish with agar agar, it becomes clear how unhygienic a mask that is rarely used is.
