Installation set and installation aid for large display films

Scope of delivery

Installation principle

Neoxum  Protective films have a silicone adhesive layer and are therefore among the Adhesive films. The adhesion is achieved through interactions between the adhesive layer and the display surface. Physical forces, so-called Van der Waals interactions and dipole-dipole interactions ensure excellent adhesion of the anti-glare film, as well as the transparent screen protector, to smooth surfaces such as touch displays, displays of all kinds and smooth surfaces in general made of metal, plastic or glass. This adhesion is supported by the natural air pressure exerted on the display film. This prevents slipping or simple removal - Neoxum screen protector adheres extremely strongly to displays without the use of adhesives or glue. If necessary, it can still be removed without leaving any residue.

Applying large films

Large screen protectors can in principle be applied very easily to the device display, e.g. of the television, TV set or large screen or monitor, as the protective films adhere to the display surface. 

However, we recommend floating installation for sizes of around 24 inches or more.

Floating installation of large and huge screen protectors

Floating installation works with a thin film of water between the touch display or display and the Neoxum screen protector. This applies to the anti-reflective film as well as to the transparent display film. With the help of the thin non-conductive water film (only use demineralized water!), the large format display film can be positioned even more easily. If you are satisfied with the result, use the squeegee provided and smooth out the water from the sides.

Detailed installation instructions for display protection films - floating application

You will receive an oblong package. In this package there is a cardboard tube. In this roll there is:

1. the display protection film, wrapped again in plastic film
2. Pump spray bottle with spray head with 100 ml of demineralized water
3. Cleaning fluid, spray pump bottle, 125 ml
4. Squeegee and microfiber cloth

Please read the following instructions carefully before unpacking . Make sure you allow yourself at least 60 minutes, don't rush. Work in a room that is as dust-free as possible, avoid drafts and movement by people walking around.

1)
Lay the sealed package horizontally on a clean, flat surface, open it carefully and carefully remove the cardboard sleeve from the outer box. You will find the squeegee and the microfiber cloth in the outer box.
First, remove the air cushions from the cardboard sleeve. Be very careful when doing this: the display film is prone to creases. As soon as you have removed the air cushions, you can slightly lift the cardboard sleeve at the other end: the packaged display film will then carefully slide out of the white cardboard sleeve. Alternatively, you can pull the film out of the cardboard sleeve using the tubular film.
Take out the still-packaged display film and carefully remove the plastic film outer packaging: Warning! The film is rolled up and will spring back into its original flat shape, so to speak. Please proceed carefully.
Lay the film flat on a level surface.
On the short sides of the display film you will find so-called pull tabs: yellow on one side; silver on the other side. Please don't peel anything off yet! !
Explanation: The screen protector is in the middle of two carrier films which must be peeled off in a specific order. For this reason, you cannot see the anti-reflective layer or the actual crystal-clear screen film yet, and the film appears to be very reflective!

In the next step, please completely switch off the power to your device by unplugging it. Ideally, the device should be lying flat on a table. If you cannot remove the device from the wall or if the feet are in the way, that is not a problem. The only important thing is: SWITCH OFF THE POWER!

Take the bottle of demineralized water and moisten one corner of the microfiber cloth with 1-2 sprays. Test the display's compatibility with demineralized water on a very small part of the display: we recommend a corner of the display. Once you have checked compatibility, it's time to clean the display. Test the display's compatibility with the cleaning agent again by spraying 1-2 sprays on another corner of the microfiber cloth and testing compatibility on one corner. If you are unsure, consult the instructions for use from your device manufacturer. Clean the display with a suitable cleaner and remove dust, lint and fingerprints.
In the next step, we will assume that your device display is compatible with demineralized water. Demineralized water is non-conductive and no residue remains after it has dried completely.

From this point on, you should get a second person to help you .
With two people, peel off the lower carrier film, piece by piece and very carefully, using the silver-coloured pull tabs. Please do not touch the exposed siliconised adhesive layer of the display film with your hands. Only touch it with grease-free fingers (after washing your hands). One person holds the film up with their fingers, while the second person carefully and smoothly peels off the carrier film completely. Now moisten the completely exposed silicone adhesive layer with the demineralized water by holding the spray head at a distance of approx. 10-30 cm onto the silicone adhesive layer and activating the pump head.

Place the moistened display film on the device display and position the display film without exerting any pressure on the display. Due to the water film (demineralized water does not conduct and leaves no residue after it has dried completely) you can position the display film "floating" on the device display. If you are satisfied with the final position, carefully spread the water film with the supplied squeegee without exerting any pressure, as far downwards as possible and absorb the water with a cloth, e.g. made of absorbent cotton, so that as little demineralized water as possible gets under the display frame.Also carefully smooth out any trapped air bubbles using the squeegee as quickly as possible.

6)
Please only remove the carrier film that covers the anti-reflective side of the display film using the yellow pull tabs after you have finally applied the films to the device display. This transparent protective film is very easy to remove.

Please only reconnect the device to the power supply after it has completely dried!

Disposal of the carrier films: You can recycle the two removed carrier films by putting them in the yellow bin, the yellow bag or for plastic recycling. The material name is PET, the same material from which plastic beverage bottles are made.
